James Oswald Anderson

James Oswald Anderson (18 March 1872 – 21 July 1932), born in Buenos Aires to British parents and known in Argentina as Juan O. James Oswald Anderson was born into a British family in Buenos Aires on 18 March 1872 and educated in England at Bedford Modern School.〔〔School of the Black & Red, A History of Bedford Modern School, A.G. Underwood (2010). p.91〕
Anderson played football as a striker for Lomas Athletic Club in Argentina between 1895 and 1902, scoring 31 goals in 37 appearances.〔 http://www.rsssf.com/tablesa/argchamp.html〕 He was the top goal scorer in the 1896 season.〔 http://www.rsssf.com/tablesa/argtops.html〕 He helped organise and participated in the first official game of Argentina’s national football team against Uruguay in 1902 where he scored a goal for his country in its 6-0 victory.〔〔
